1969
Two years after the idea to develop a professional snow groomer, the first prototype was complete. The PistenBully PB120 B came to being. Built as a transport-vehicle, it had a front drive sprocket for a very short trial period, but it was quickly converted into a rear sprocket drive. The first PistenBully (with width 3.2 meters as PB 32.120 and with width 3.6 meters as PB 36.120) was produced until 1971.

In an competition with 21 vehicles from seven nations, PistenBully clearly emerged as the winner: PistenBully PB145D with more than 145 hp wins prizes for the best prepared slope and the best technical vehicle featuring first ever design of diesel/hydrostatic drive train.

In the winter of 1972, six PistenBully 145D are on their way to Japan! A success story at the Olympic winter games in Sapporo paves the way for PistenBully to the world market.

PistenBully 060D is the first cross-country vehicle to hit the market in 1974/1975. Significantly lighter, narrower and more flexible than previous designs, a real innovation emerged from the experience gained with the alpine snow groomers.

1984
In 1984, Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG presents a genuine world debut. PistenBully 200DW is the first snow groomer with a self contained mounted winch on the market. With a turning radius of 360 degrees under the rope, 500 m rope length and 2.5 t traction, this vehicle offers the best functions to prepare steep slopes.

1996
There is hardly any (older) PistenBully fan who doesn't know this vehicle! The new generation PB300 and PB 300W was the company's best known and most widely used series until the end of the 1990s.
Pistenbully 600 conquers the mountains
2006
In 2006, the new PistenBully 600 generation is presented as the successor to the famous PB300. The PB600 convinces with the latest technologies and the highest operating comfort. One year later, based on the 600 series, the world's strongest snow groomer hits the market: PistenBully 600 Polar.

Following joint innovation work with our customers, SNOWsat was presented in 2011. The professional slope- and fleet management system began as a tool for snow depth measurement. SNOWsat's scope of functions has grown rapidly within a short time: Today, the system is a comprehensive digital tool, that records all data in the ski area, evaluates them and turns the slope preparation even more efficient.

Sustainability and environmental awareness. With all the love for high horse-power machines, we do not ignore our planet. In 2012, the PistenBully 600E+ was launched as the world's first hybrid vehicle with diesel-electric drive. Customers worldwide immediately loved the green Bully for its outstanding performance, high effifiency and of course, its environmental friendliness.
pro academy offers professional Trainings

PRO ACADEMY teaches snow groomers and those who want to become one everything about sustainable slope preparation, the correct way of handling of the snow groomer and safe operation. The manufacturer-independent trainings focus on efficiency, environmental awareness and cost-effectiveness. The training curriculum is still expanding. In addition to beginner and technical trainings, the courses now can be completed online and from any mobile device.
